Covenant First Presbyterian Church

A portrait of one of Cincinnati's architectural gems, commissioned on the occasion of its 150th birthday.

Covenant-First Presbyterian Church is located on Elm and 8th streets in downtown Cincinnati. The building was completed in January 1875 and formally dedicated on April 11th, 1875. 


The building sits at the end of a large public promenade, Garfield Park, and has maintained it's beauty over the century and a half as the city grew around it. The parish commissioned SKT to illustrate the building for our pottery forms and we have the collection available for purchase below. All of the pottery forms are made-to-order in 3-8 weeks. Larger forms are available in our icy white or blue green celadon glaze. 

The building hosts an Austin pipe organ with approximately 3,500 pipes, which was installed in 1915. The pulpit furniture was carved between 1875 and 1878 by father and son wood artists Henry and William Henry Fry, whose work started the Cincinnati carved art furniture movement. The north tower contains one of the only "Revere Bells" outside of New England, which rings daily at noon and regularly on Sunday mornings. It was an honor to get to know the building inside and out, and to work on this special illustration.
